Course Description

This course is similar in style and content to Level 5, but conversations take place at a slower pace and using less complex language. Regular use is made of French TV news broadcasts, magazine articles, films, songs and cartoons as a stimulus for discussion and role play. The emphasis is on exposure to and active production of the language and on learning the language whilst having fun in French.  Some grammatical features will be practised, but the main aim is to improve fluency and variety of expression and to develop listening comprehension at "normal" speed (i.e., French being spoken by French natives for French natives). Some optional homework will be given for those who can devote extra time to the language-learning process.
