Spanish Dresses

Monday Evenings 7-9pm

This course is intended for those who already have a good grasp of the language (good GCSE / 2-3 years study / Level 3A at Loughborough) and who are well motivated and prepared to work in their own time to consolidate their knowledge and progress to advanced language work. 

The course runs for 20 weeks, 2 hours per week.  The price of the course will be added during the registration process.

Course Description

The aims of the course are to consolidate existing knowledge, extend range and complexity of vocabulary and grammar on most topics which are familiar or of personal interest and improve fluency. The emphasis is on conversation and active participation. A general revision of grammar will be followed by an introduction to common expressions involving future uncertainty. Simple articles for discussion in class will be provided on a variety of topics. Although the main emphasis will be on speaking and reading Spanish, you will also develop your listening comprehension skills. You will need to spend time on preparation before each class. This could involve completing grammar exercises and developing texts.

•           Society

•           Culture

•           Cinema

•           History

•           Regions of Spain and South America

•           Revision of the indicative tenses

•           Prepositions

•           Personal pronouns

•           Introduction to the subjunctive

On completion students will be able to:

•           Understand and follow discussions on a variety of familiar topics

•           Read and understand simple articles on contemporary topics

•           Express an opinion  on related topics

•           Understand native speakers on familiar topics
