Wednesday Evenings 7-9pm

This course is for those who have completed Spanish 3B or equivalent and wish to develop their skills to a more advanced level. Work is of approximately ‘A’ level standard and will equip participants with more sophisticated conversational skills in the language. 

The course runs for 20 weeks, 2 hours per week.  The price of the course will be added during the registration process.

Discount for anyone registered in 2016-17:£30 (already applied to the returner rates above). No more than one discount can be applied per year.

Course Description

Newspaper and magazine articles of general interest will be used to provide topics for discussion in Spanish. Although the main emphasis will be on speaking and reading Spanish, you will also develop your listening comprehension skills. Students will be encouraged both to express themselves and to understand native speakers through the use of audio and visual media. Some of the complexities of advanced grammar will be explained as they arise.

On completion students will be able to:

•           Understand extended speech and follow complex lines of argument on familiar topics

•           Understand most TV news and current affairs programmes

•           Read texts concerning contemporary topics

•           Take an active part in discussion in familiar contexts

•           Explain a point of view on topical issues
