Japanese Level 1 2024

20-week Japanese Level 1 course:

Semester 1 (weeks 2-11 term-time) from Wednesday 9th October to Wednesday 11th December 2024 (10 weeks).  4.00pm-6.00pm

Semester 2 (weeks 1-10 term time – no classes over Easter holidays) from Wednesday 5th February to Wednesday 7th May 2025 (10 weeks). 4.00pm-6.00pm

All classes will be delivered in person.

Location: U.1.12 Brockington Extension (Central Park).

Expected class size is 12 to 18 participants. 

Open to anyone aged 18 years of age and over.

Course Description

This course is designed for complete beginners or students with little knowledge of the language. 

The course covers a variety of everyday situations such as:

·        Introducing yourself and others

·         Telling times

·         Shopping

Class work emphasises on listening, speaking and practice of sentence structure; self study consists of reviewing work done in class and practising language skills, as advised by the tutor. Writing and reading Japanese letters (Kana) are basically left to your self-study, using the handouts provided and with tutor’s support.
