This 2 day short course will cover throwing forms specifically with lid fittings. We will also cover making different types of lids and handles and how these may be assembled to create finished objects.

Detailed Description

The course will run over 2 days.

31st March 2026 - Day 1: The morning will begin with an introduction to historical and contemporary containers followed by practical demonstrations of throwing different forms incorporating various lid fittings, various types of lids, handles and lugs will also be demonstrated. The afternoon will be a supported practical session allowing students to throw thier own forms and lids.

1st April 2026 - Day 2: This will begin with a practical demonstration of turning and trimming forms and lids, followed by supported practical session. The afternoon will conclude with assembling lidded containers and attaching any handles or lugs.
